Sneak Beak-Spread Your Wings

Get an insider’s view at this painting day, pop in and watch artists turn designs from across the city into a flock of giant birds.  

For one day only, Peterborough Presents is inviting everyone to come and see the making of original artworks. These new pieces will then be installed at Peterborough Celebrates festival in May, so this is a chance to see them before anyone else.  

This sneak peek is part of a bigger project called ‘Spread Your Wings’ which has been working with groups and individuals across Peterborough to create a flock of Ostrich sized birds that will adorn the festival and will show off the creative talent and pride of the city.  

On Saturday the 29th of April from 11am-6pm at Studio 4 which is in the Undercroft, find 3-4 artists start the process of making these birds, watch them paint, draw, have a cuppa, chat and ask questions. We will also be holding a little design den, where anyone can take part, doodling, drawing or writing to make their own bird.  

This is a great event for anyone who has been involved already in the project or if you have an interest in visual art in any way.

The space can be wheelchair accessible, and you can use the lift or the flat entry at the back of the venue.

Directions: Come into the shopping centre at the South Entrance, turn left at Tru Gym, head towards the food hall/ toilets/ Pass Burger King, go down the lift or escalator and the studio is through the green door on your right.
