CHANGE OF VENUE
Update 24/8/24- Sorry but due to the rain forecast for the day and we are not able to use a inside space at the Marigold Tavern, we have changed location to Eye Youth Club, which is in the same building as Eye Library. We apologise but we want everyone to be warm and feel comfortable whilst they make lanterns.
The venue may be changing but everything else is the same, no need to book, materials are provided and we look forward to meeting you all.
What to expect
Leading up to this year’s Light Up Eye Lantern parade, we will be holding lots of lantern making workshops in different parts of Eye village
In this creative session, villagers can make a lantern for themselves or for their families, be inspired by Eye and its history.
This workshop is also a chance for Eye residents to come and meet the team and Light Whale International who are leading the parade, ask questions, offer stories and get involved too.
No experience is necessary for lantern making. All materials are provided and the workshop is free. All ages welcome too, but under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult
Access Information
There is ramp that means its wheelchair accessible with two small steps with a handrail into the building.
The lantern making uses PVA glue, but we can provide gloves if needed.
There will be a sign for Peterborough Presents outside.
Toilets are available for attendees to use inside the main building and they are wheelchair accessible.
We will have a quiet space for anyone that needs some time away.
Travel information:
There is a small car park for around 4-5 spaces, which is good for blue badge holders. But this is used by the Library too, so if you can park in other parts of the village then please do.
There is a bus stop opposite St Matthews Church and the venue is two mins walk away.
