What’s Been Happening?
Here are some of the past projects we have loved creating with communities across Peterborough.
The Allama Iqbal Project – Year 1
Allama Iqbal Project – Autumn and Winter 2025, was the first ever citywide celebration of Allama Iqbal, bringing together schools, elders, residents, and community organisations to take part in performances, workshops, and exhibitions inspired by Iqbal.
Reasonable Adjustments 2.0
In 2025 Reasonable Adjustments (RAD) 2.0 was our project designed with and for deaf, disabled and neurodivergent (DDN) communities, marking the 30th anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act.
Orton Makers
Orton Makers was set up in October 2022 (and is running independently now). It was a social group for adults from the area to meet others and chat in a safe space, and make something that was useful or beautiful.
Eye Village Lantern Parade
November 2022 and 2024! Light up Eye, or Eye Village Lantern Parade, became a bi-annual event which brings the village together for a night of community and light.
Millfield Festival
Millfield Festival was a yearly community arts festival in the heart of Millfield, Gladstone, and New England that ran from 2017 – 2024

To Break The Horizon
To Break The Horizon was an artist residency at the Allama Iqbal Centre with Seyyed Ali Ameem Naqvi and Zain Haider Awan.
RAD 2.0 – Lore Green
For RAD 2.0 (2025), Lore Green hosted a Frida Kahlo inspired workshop and photoshoot for individuals who live with chronic illness.
RAD 2.0 – Lava Lamp
For RAD 2.0 (2025), inclusive club night Lava Lamp made a return!
RAD 2.0 – Kim Laidler
For RAD 2.0 (2025), Kim hosted a series of Stitch & Bitch sessions, and created two yarn bombs.
RAD 2.0 – Jay Gearing
Jay Gearing created two short films for his RAD 2.0 (2025) Early Career Residency: “Reasonably Adjusted?” and “Unreasonable”.
