Meet some birds of prey, have a go at drawing animals and plants from real life inspiration, and help us plant some bulbs for Iqbal’s Garden!
What to Expect
Drop in and spend ten mins or an hour taking part in a variety of creative activities, which have all been inspired by Allama Iqbal’s poetry.
All materials provided and suitable for beginners and first timers.
Meet a selection of birds of prey from CJ’s Birds of Prey, learn more about these amazing creatures and experience handling with an expert falconer.
Meet resident artists Seyyed Naqvi and Zain Awan, who will be showing you how to take inspiration from real animals and plants to create your own still life drawings. Learn some new drawing skills from professional artists, and what you create will inspire new artworks and poetry created by Seyyed and Zain.
Get hands on with some autumnal planting, planting tulips and other bulbs to create Iqbal’s Garden, a special part of the pollinator park which will be known as Iqbal’s Garden.
Wrap up warm! In the event of wet weather, all activity will be moved inside.
This event is part of The Allama Iqbal Project.
Access Information
The Allama Iqbal Centre has step-free access and an accessible toilet.
Parking extremely limited – please walk or use public transport. The nearest pay & display car park is a 5-10 minute walk from the centre: Queensgate.
The nearest bus stop is on Craig Street.
Activity will take place outside: a mixture of on the ground, on picnic benches, and seated on tables and chairs. Planting activities may involve some light exercise of digging into the ground.
Refreshments provided.
Children must be accompanied by adults.
Expect some noise and commotion – we will have a set of ear defenders and focus toys available for those with sensory requirements, and please bring your own if you prefer.
