Millfield Planters Painting Weekend

About The Event

We’ve been running an exciting competition for Year 6 students across the Beeches Primary School and Gladstone Primary Academy to create some new public artworks for Searjeant Street! Working in partnership with Community First (Peterborough) and local professional artist Fasiha Ashiq, we are creating four brand new planters to brighten up the local community!

This Painting Weekend is a chance for everyone involved in the competition, plus their friends and family, to help paint the winning designs onto the wooden boxes.

Saturday 11 May & Sunday 12 May

Gladstone Connect, Allama Iqbal Centre, 157 Cromwell Road, Peterborough, PE1 2EL

Drop in between 10:30am – 3:30pm

(you don’t have to stay all day unless you want to!)

Please book a painting slot in advance if you / your child would like to do some painting – only limited slots available on the day

What To Expect

Expect a buzzing environment of people and paint! Drop in any time to help bring the winning designs to life. This project is for the local community, by the local community, and we’d love your help in painting these new artworks! You will be provided with all materials and the designs will have already been chosen – this is a chance for you to experience life as a real community artist, do something nice for the local neighbourhood, and have a bit of fun doing something different.

You can book a 2 hour painting slot for you and your children if you want to do some of the actual painting.

Or if you don’t want to get painting, you can still pop by to see how the designs are progressing, have a cup of tea, and tell us what you think about them. You can also find out more about Community First (Peterborough)’s other brilliant community work in the neighbourhood.
