Leading up to this year’s Eye Lantern parade, we will be holding lots of lantern making in different parts of Eye village with community groups, but this is the second October public workshop.
What to expect
In this creative session, villagers can make a lantern for themselves or for their families, be inspired by Eye and its history.
This workshop is also a chance for Eye residents to come and meet the team and Light Whale International who are leading the parade, ask questions, offer stories and get involved too.
Lantern making involves, sculpting willow, wrapping LED lights to your lantern and gluing tissue to make it into a lantern.
No experience is necessary for lantern making. All materials are provided and the workshop is free.
All ages welcome too, but under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult

There is ramp that means its wheelchair accessible.
The lantern making uses PVA glue, but we can provide gloves if needed.
There will be a sign or A frame for Peterborough Presents outside.
We will serve tea, coffee and squash.
Toilets are available for attendees to use inside the main building and they are wheelchair accessible.
Travel information:
The venue is near the Blue Boar stop on the high street opposite the Coop, where you can get the number 37 bus or the number 36 from Thorney.
