What is the collection about?
This exhibition features new artworks by other RAD 2.0 artists, Jay Gearing (film-maker from Red 7 Productions), John Clark (film-maker), Kim Laidler (craftivist), Lore Green (visual artist) and Lava Lamp (accessible club night). Each artist or group over the last few months has worked carefully with DDN residents across the city to help shape and create their work.
Their commissions ask: What’s changed? What hasn’t? What still needs to happen.
There will be prints from some of the workshops, events and projects. Including a gallery of photographic prints, art works and documentary type photos. There will be a film for people to watch. Questions that you can answer that were asked in workshops through a chalkboard. There are a number of small activities that are linked to each artist’s commission too. October 6th 1-2:30pm ‘Reasonably Adjusted’?
Join filmmaker and artist Jay Gearing for the afternoon as he navigates what it means to be diagnosed neurodivergent later on in life and questions whether people with ADHD should take drugs to manage or is it society itself that is ‘sick’. This event is now sold out.
October 7th 11am-12pm ‘What’s Changed’?
Join film maker John Clark for this screening where he asks and asked what has changed for people from the DDN community and how these answers effect their present and future.
October 7th 2-4pm Frida’s Flowers Drop in
Lore Green is hosting a free, drop in, quick and one-off workshop, which is inspired by Frida Kahlo and Lore’s RAD 2.0 community commission. Not only will you be able to experience Lore’s exhibition & the other RAD Artist collections too, but you can make a felt flower to take away with you.

October 9th 11am-1pm RAD 2.0 Stitch and Bitch
join local craftivist & artist Kim Laidler, who will host this crafty ‘stitch and b*tch’ meet up for those living with chronic illness, daily pain, mental health struggles from the disabled, deaf and neurodivergent community (DDN). This is another opportunity for people to come together and chat whilst they take part in their crafts.
No experience necessary, bring along any crafts you have on the go, whether its crochet, knitting, sewing a button on a shirt, colouring or making a shopping list. Expect some cheekiness (which is why the minimum age is 16 years old).

About Reasonable Adjustments
This workshop is part of a project called Reasonable Adjustment 2.0. The aim of the project is to mark the 30th anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act, and 15th anniversary of the Equality Act. We are using these anniversaries to make artworks that capture honest feelings and experiences of what it’s like to be Deaf, Disabled, and/or Neurodivergent (DDN).
