We’ve been on a bit of a journey over the last 2 years to improve our creative events, workshops, and activities so that they are more accessible. Working with the incredible Julie Fernandez, we’ve transformed so much of what we do – and we wanted to share that journey with you!
By access, we mean access requirements for people who are deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent. In this podcast we talk about the changes we’ve made to our overall programme, successes, moments where we got things wrong, and our Reasonable Adjustment project which was for & by the DDN communities in Peterborough.
We know that not all creative organisations, creative businesses, or professional artists & freelancers have the luxury of being able to pay for their own Julie (she’s ours!) so we thought we’d pass on our learning of some other free or cheap tips that can help improve the accessibility of your marketing and/or your events.
