Volunteers needed for Peterborough Celebrates
Can you help out?
- Saturday 17th May. Set up from 8.30am. Public times 11am -5pm. Close down 5 – 6.30pm.
- Sunday 18th May: Set up from 9.30am. Public times 11am -4pm. Close down 4 – 5.30pm.
Activity:
City of Dreams: working with Fasiha, Madiha and Shahzia (yes we know it rhymes) to create a cardboard city that celebrates home. People will be able to take part in drop in activities to make beautiful simple houses or windows (2D and 3D out of cardboard). This is linked to Millfield of Dreams film being launched the following week. We will also have a small exhibition about Millfield of Dreams outside the dome.
On Saturday we will also be joined in the dome by Metal and Culture Community.
On the Sunday Sam Roddan will also join us with doodling workshops linked to our work in Westwood.
Volunteer tasks could involve:
Putting out workshop materials, prepping cardboard templates, setting up tables and chairs, monitoring people coming into the dome, keeping it tidy, supporting artists, helping make the dome look spectacular, tidying away, capturing people’s postcodes, making people feel welcome, telling people what else is going on if we’re a little busy etc etc.

If you are able to join us just email peterboroughpresents@neneparktrust.org.uk (copied in) and tell us which day and what hours you can do. We’ll feed and water you, give you a PP t-shirt and welcome you with fun and giggles. If you need some support towards travel then we can help with that too.
Once signed up we’ll need you to do the usual online form to capture your emergency details (in case they have changed) and ask anonymously for demographics etc. This just helps us with funding and health and safety.
