Welcome to a new short series of films and vlogs profiling ‘everyday creatives’ in Peterborough!

What is an everyday creative? Well if you can draw, sing, act, dance, sew, bake, paint and the list can go on then you already are an everyday creative! Your daily hobbies are seen and celebrated by being showcased on our Tik Tok social media platform.

Amanda’s – Baking

Amanda enjoys baking – particularly when it means she can ‘treat’ others. Yep – baking is also creative! This isn’t just any old tray bake, this is an Easter egg cookie tray bake, and its for her team at the charity Nene Park Trust.
“I love baking, it is quite a mindful activity for me, it can bring joy to others when you share the end result.” 

I think we are gonna need the recipe Amanda!

Sara’s – Art Journaling 

Sara enjoys mixed media art. She has recently become fired up by intuitive art journaling in repurposed books.

“I love giving old forgotten books from the charity shop a new purpose and lease of life. I am presently working on an old dictionary of modern art. I love the creative process of watching what will emerge from the page that day. I come to my book without any pre-thoughts of what I will do. I allow myself the freedom to choose what colours, medium and marks I will make. I love the feeling of flow, it is such a present place allowing whatever will arise in each moment to arise. The book that builds, then provides a story of season time and mood, and I can see the ribbon of my existence in those page.”

Sara enjoys sharing her passion and process with others. I believe strongly that finding your own way of creative self expression is both life affirming and enriching. 

Amirah Yasar

We’ve started our everyday creative series with Amirah Yasar, our Programme Assistant at Peterborough Presents. She is a graphic designer and illustrator who works digitally from iPad and gains inspiration from anime and gaming.

Fasihas Fancys

Fasihas fancys create beautiful artworks that are edible. That’s right! You can admire your hand painted biscuits before devouring them. They have decided to show us how creative they get during Eid celebrations! 

Talyn Tiffin-Gearing

Talyn is a fifteen year old student who did a work experience placement with us in July 2022. Talyn finds inspiration for their artwork in observing other people, and they enjoy historical fashion throughout the 19th century and beyond. As part of the week, we tasked them with making their own tiktok about a piece of art they made during the week. Press play to see some cute gay cats!
