Do you want to be part of our crew bringing Hollywood to Westwood? Looking for something cool to do for teens over the summer holidays?
Fridays 12pm – 6pm
19th July – 31 August 2024
Cross Keys Community Hub, Hampton Court Shops, Westwood, PE3 7JB
A summer filmmaking club for teenagers aged 14-20!
Only 20 places available each week. Open to all 14-20 year olds living in or around Westwood & Ravensthorpe. We recommend signing up now to ensure you get a place.
What to Expect
Peterborough Presents has teamed up with LemonWedge Film ready for a summer of film-making every Friday from 12 – 6pm.
You don’t need any equipment or previous experience to join in the fun.
Every week we’ll help develop ideas from a blank page to a finished short projects. Some weeks we’ll go “on set” around the neighbourhood with real-life briefs, so you’ll get a real life taste of what it’s like in the film and media creative industries.
Drinks and snacks provided each week, plus you’ll get to design and keep your own merch!
A chance to have loads of fun, learn skills, make new friends, have a go with professional equipment, and make fun short films to be proud of. As part of a small crew you’ll get hands on with the kit and learn skills in all the key roles needed in production, from directing and producing, recording location sound to operating the cameras, deciding shot sizes, angles and moves.
Onto the edit where you’ll help decide the pacing, effects, grading and sound design. All our finished projects earn our budding filmmakers awards and be showcased in our very own festival in Peterborough.
From documentary to creative storytelling, each week we’ll have different themes. You’ll get the chance to bring your own ideas to life individually and/or in groups. You can go at your own pace, being creative and part of something that not only is fun, but could be the start of a future hobby or even a career.
We’ll bring the support and the equipment and you bring the enthusiasm and willingness to get involved.
Sessions led by professional filmmakers Stu and Cristian from London company LemonWedge Film.

Venue and transport
Address: Cross Keys Westwood Community Hub, 31-35 Hampton Court Shops, Westwood, PE3 7JB
This project is primarily for teens aged 14-20 in the Westwood & Ravensthorpe areas, and we encourage you to walk if possible! But if you are travelling from further afield or are getting a lift, the best place to park is the drop-off / short stay at Hampton Court shops. Please note the car park is maximum 2 hours, so we recommend parking the nearby residential streets instead.
The bus stop is also at Hampton Court Shops (behind the Post Office / Spar) and is the number 3 route. Please see Stagecoach’s website for more info on the timetable.
About the building / sessions
The building is wheelchair accessible and has an accessible, gender neutral toilet. The building is closed to the public, meaning we will have exclusive access to the building apart from the occasional Cross Keys member of staff.
We will have a designated “quiet space”, ear defenders, and focus/stim toys available.
Each session is 6 hours long, with regular breaks and snacks & drinks to keep you going.
If you have any specific Access Requirements, please know that we are a dedicated inclusive project and you can chat to us before you take part so we can make sure we have the correct things in place. Please call / text Charley on 07435 985935 or email charley.genever@neneparktrust.org.uk
