The Creative Dome at Peterborough Celebrates Festival!

We are 10 years old!

We are excited to be celebrating our 10th birthday – that’s a whole 10 years of co-creating great art with the amazing communities in Peterborough- 10 years of presenting art, theatre, performance, poetry, street art, photography, festivals, workshops, walk, talks and more! – 10 years of working with the amazing creatives based in Peterborough and beyond. Over the next 12 months we’ll be celebrating our birthday – starting with our Creative Dome at Peterborough Celebrates Festival on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May. Did you come and say hi and join the birthday fun?

Peterborough Presents was at the Peterborough Celebrates Festival

On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 May we were at the Peterborough Celebrates Festival in Ferry Meadows hosting our very own ‘Creative Dome’.

On the Saturday you could watch The Pansy Postal Service, an interactive performance by Mandinga Arts, sharing a heart-felt message about finding your place in the world. You could also join a draw along session with artist Sam Roddan, dress up in our carnival costumes and decorate your own party hat! On Sunday you could join Orton Makers to design your own art badge, create a magical story spiral with artist Gabriela Gentile, and also make a statement about art & access in conversation with artist Fae Kilburn. You could also get creative with artist Rose Croft to decorate our dome and make your very own party hat. Those that visited may have even enjoyed an impromptu game of giant pass the parcel and party processions!

Artist Rose Croft heard your stories about Peterborough Presents events

As part of our 10th birthday programme, we worked with Artist Rose Croft to design a creative environment for our Creative Dome at Peterborough Celebrates Festival 18 & 19th May 2024.  Rose hosted 5 community workshops throughout the city to create upcycled festival decorations, as well as creating and painting large wooden cubes that an interactive display over the weekend.

The cubes depicted a variety of Peterborough Presents events over the last few years; celebrating how these projects have had an impact on our Peterborough Community and spreading joy.  Rose asked the public and groups for their help to inspire the images she painted on the cubes.

If you have been part of a Peterborough Presents event in the past Peterborough Presents team invite you to share your stories and memories ideas… please email peterboroughpresents@neneparktrust.org.uk to share.

Upcycling craft workshop with artist Rose Croft

We got pom-pom-tastic at this drop-in and free craft workshop on Friday 3 May, at the Salvation Army Shop 23, Long Causeway, Peterborough PE1 1YJ . People dropped in to the craft area on the first floor and learnt how to make upcycled decorations including colourful poms poms and tassles. The decorations were used to decorate our epic Creative Dome at Peterborough Celebrates Festival.
