Join us for a once in a blue moon opportunity to reminisce about Millfield with Francis Gomila and the Link Road mural restoration artists.

Back in 2021 Peterborough Presents worked with the local community to restore a much-loved local mural, created in the 1980’s by town artist Francis Gomila. It was both an epic project and an epic restoration which gave us a beautiful insight into the past and present life of Millfield.
Francis Gomila will be joined by the artists who helped the restoration, Nathan Murdoch, Stuart Payn, Amanda Rigby, Jason Duckmanton, and Tony Nero. Together they will talk about the mural, what it means locally and the importance of street art in Millfield and other urban areas.
The event is a chance to also visit the mural which is located a short walk from the venue.
What to expect
Expect a relaxed atmosphere where you can listen, ask questions, and reminisce on the good old days of life in Millfield and Gladstone and New England.
We’ll provide free tea/coffee and snacks.
After the talk there will be an opportunity to wander over to the mural with the artists for those that want to.

The event will take place at Gladstone Connect, which is a wheelchair accessible venue. Our access co-ordinator Julie Fernandez praised Gladstone Connect for its wide, open design, accessible toilet, and friendly atmosphere!

Very limited car parking available. We recommend using public transport or walking where possible.
The event will be 1 hour 30 mins. The talk will last approximately 45 mins – 1 hour, then the remainder of the event will be informal chatting and mingling.
