Would you like to be part of an amazing carnival performance? Do you have some experience dancing in a cultural or community group in or near Millfield, Peterborough?

We want to celebrate the different cultures from all around the world who call Millfield their home. We are looking for 15 dancers to be part of a wonderful community parade and carnival performance! Join us and carnival experts Mandinga Arts as part of a headline spectacle at this year’s Millfield Festival, complete with colourful, magical costumes!

We are looking for dancers who are:

– Are aged 16+

– Have a personal or cultural connection to Millfield / Gladstone

– Have some experience dancing – either traditional cultural dances or modern, in any style, as a hobby or professionally

– Can come to two Saturday workshops to learn and practice choreography (dates: 9 July, 30 July)

– Are available on Saturday 6 August for the final performance

What you will get:

– A chance to headline a local community festival

– Wear amazing costumes and makeup

– Learn new choreography

– Meet new people

– Have loads of fun!

Workshop information

Saturday 9 July
12pm – 5pm
Millfield Community Association, Lincoln Road, Peterborough, PE1 2PE

You must be available to attend a dance workshop on Saturday 9 July and a rehearsal on Saturday 30 July. The final performance will take place as the headline act for Millfield Festival 2022 on Saturday 6 August. You will be needed from 2pm to get into costume and make-up, with the final performance happening at 5pm.
