We’re excited to share that five community activity partnership projects have been chosen for us to support as part of our latest call-out. After hearing from so many passionate community groups, organisations, and independent creatives across the city, the selected activities reflect the creativity, ambition, and range of Peterborough’s diverse communities.
Each chosen project will receive our support, including up to £2,000 in funding and collaboration time from the Peterborough Presents team. Each project aims to trial accessible events that connect with our priority communities, from Global Majority groups and young adults, to DDN communities, men, and residents in Millfield, Gladstone, Westwood, Dogsthorpe and Eye. We can’t wait to work with the selected partners to bring these ideas to life between November 2025 and March 2026. Craft Collective – Social Craft Group with Kim Laidler and Jen Walker
A yarn-based craft group for members of the DDN, young adults 16+, and LGBTQIA+ communities, aiming to provide a safe, social space to learn new skills and foster a sense of community. The sessions are fortnightly on Sundays at Angle Gaming Lounge 3-5 pm.

YMCA Youth Cresset: Unspoken Colours
Over six weeks starting in February 2026, young people aged 16–25 will work with a local artist to design a collaborative mural/mixed-medium artwork exploring themes related to neurodiverse identities. The final piece will be a permanent fixture in the new YMCA Community Hub at the Cresset.
Thrive Live – Special Edition
Supported by Cambridgeshire Deaf Association, a special 90-minute International Women’s Day episode on 20th March 2026 celebrating Deaf women’s creativity and empowerment. Hosted by Nadia Nadarajah, the event will feature a panel of Deaf Women, highlight the story of a local Deafblind woman, and includes an interactive Fluid Art activity led by Deaf artist Vicky Barber-Crimes plus more.
Rose Croft – The Book(ish) Club
This project is a series of three pressure-free and inclusive creative community sessions in January, February, and March at Woodston Library where participants will listen to poems and book extracts around a shared theme. The sessions blend literature and making activities, providing a platform for underrepresented voices, including young adults and DDN participants.

WestRaven Community Garden Men’s Group
A weekly men’s group engaging in woodwork, wood whitling activities and cooking lunch over the garden fire pit, with the aim of reducing isolation and building positive relationships for local men in Westwood. Running from January to March 2026 at the WestRaven Community Garden, the group will begin as a tutor-led experience, evolving into a community-led group.
Every Thursday, 1pm to 4pm.
